Meet the Instructor

I am Markea Sawyer, owner and instructor of Sew Joyful Teaching. I fell in love with the artistry of sewing 12 years ago. Having a sewing community at my alma mater, North Carolina Central University allowed me to learn and share the art of sewing. Sewing is a skill that widely exist but rarely taught. As many, I grew up watching my grandmother and mother sew, but I never received an official lesson. With Sew Joyful Teaching, I wish to sharing the joy and education of sewing! I hope to see you in front of a sewing machine.
